Monte Alban above Oaxaca, Mexico is an impressive site when you consider it was built roughly 2,500 years ago by the Zapotec people by leveling a mountain (see a wide angle shot of Mount Alban). Many of the surrounding hills also have the ruins of cities on them as well, as yet un-excavated.
