What we had read was that every Sunday Merida, an old colonial city on the Yucatan, turns out in the central plaza with dancers, music and crafts. We changed out plans to be in Merida by Sunday afternoon where we saw these local dancers performing. The smiles and crisp outfits are in spite of the tropical heat of the evening.
